Walk and Talk therapy is exactly what it sounds like: a counselling session that takes place while we walk or wheel, gently and unhurried, through a green space in and around Bristol. It's the same professional, confidential therapy you'd have in the room — just with fresh air, movement, and the natural world alongside us.
What a session looks like
We agree a quiet, accessible green space in Bristol to meet, and walk or wheel together at a comfortable, gentle pace for the length of a normal session. There's no need to be especially fit, this isn't about the exercise, and we can slow down, pause, or find a bench and sit whenever you'd like. If something feels easier to talk through standing still, we stop.
Is it still confidential outside?
Yes. I choose calmer routes and keep our conversation private, and we'll agree together how to handle any potential interruptions, for example, the rare moment of seeing someone either of us knows.
Your confidentiality matters just as much outdoors as it does in the room.
Weather and practical things
Bristol weather being what it is, a bit of light rain usually isn't a problem with a coat and brolly but if the conditions aren't right, we can move the session indoors or online, or rearrange.
We'll sort the details together so it always feels comfortable.
Who it's for?
Walk and Talk can suit you especially well if you find the therapy room a little intense, if you think more clearly when you're moving, or if being outdoors is where you feel most yourself.
Some people like to mix walking sessions with sessions in the room or online.
If you have any access or mobility needs, just let me know and we'll find a way that works for you.
