The Person-Centred Approach to therapy

Person-centred therapy isn't about giving advice or telling you how you should feel. It's about being in a warm, non-judgemental space where you can be yourself, untangle what's going on, and make sense of your experiences in your own time.

Plenty of research and evidence proves that given the right support, people have the capacity to find their own way forward, which can be life-changing.

What a session actually feels like

My job isn't to diagnose you, analyse you, or hand you a set of instructions. It's to offer a relationship warm and safe enough that you can hear yourself think, feel what you feel, and move at your own pace.

It's a conversation that you lead. You bring what's on your mind, and I help you explore it: reflecting things back, noticing what comes up, and staying alongside you as you make sense of it.

You won't be rushed, and you won't be pushed to talk about anything before you're ready. Some sessions feel like untangling a specific problem; others are simply a space to think out loud and be heard.

Because it works with the whole person rather than a single symptom, person-centred counselling can help with a wide range of experiences — among them:

You don't need a specific diagnosis or a "big enough" reason to come. If something feels hard, that's reason enough.
